Hi, I’m Eric.
I’m a student at the University of Virginia studying Computer Science, Economics, and Math, and I’ve been tutoring the SAT Math for over 3 years.
As both a student and a tutor, I’ve developed strategies for learning math effectively and succeeding on the SAT. These strategies enabled me to earn a perfect math score on the SAT both times I took it. My goal as a tutor is to help other students do the same.
Since then, I’ve tutored over 100 students across the globe, taught over 30 students in my SAT Math Masterclass, and created SAT math content with over 65,000 followers and 15 million views across platforms.

FAQ
Should I get 1-on-1 tutoring or join the group class?
If you're scoring under a 650, then 1-on-1 sessions. You should always prioritize the easiest problems that you're missing, and the group classes will focus on the SAT math's hardest problems.
If you're scoring above a 650, then I'd recommend the group class, with 1-on-1 sessions as a supplement if needed. Think of group classes as teaching you the content of the test and 1-on-1 sessions as "office hours" for the topics and problems that you just can't wrap your head around. Not to mention, group classes cost much less!

What materials should I use?
The only paid resource I recommend for all students is the CollegePanda book, which is $24 online. I am not sponsored by any of the resources on this list.
Do you assign homework? How much?
It's ultimately up to the student, but I recommend that students spend around 1-3 hours working on new material and 30-60 minutes reviewing past material between sessions. Then, students come to each session with a list of problems to review, topics to learn, and questions to ask.
What if I want to cancel a session?
Sessions are fully refundable as long as you cancel at least 6 hours before the scheduled start time. Otherwise, the full session price is charged. You can see all my cancellation/refund policies here.
What makes your tutoring better than test prep companies?
A simple google search for "princeton review tutor salaries" or "kaplan tutor salaries" shows that they pay their tutors around $20-$40/hr, despite charging $175-$250/hr for their tutoring. You're not paying for the tutor, you're paying for the brand.
Furthermore, their exorbitant bundles (up to $10,000!) prioritize quantity over quality. They advertise hundreds of unengaging videos and thousands of problems (which are increasingly AI-generated or outsourced), but students only have so much time. My tutoring is focused on efficiency and outcomes. At any point in our prep, we focus all attention on the topic that yields the highest return in the lowest amount of time.

Do you tutor the English as well?
I've spent the last 3 years specializing in SAT math prep, so I know the test back to front, but I'm not strong enough in the English section to tutor it.
How much will my score improve after 8 hours of tutoring?
At the end of the day, there's no golden ticket where you can pay a certain amount of money for a certain SAT score. Almost every test prep company that advertises score guarantees has caveats in the fineprint. If a student doesn't put in effort, then 8 hours will get them nowhere. If a student is critical of their learning and practices consistently, then I've seen up to 200 point improvement.
What is your educational experience?
At the University of Virginia, I'm most of the way through a degree in Computer Science and Economics, and I'm pursuing a minor in Mathematics. I currently have a 3.9 GPA.
Outside of school, I've worked as a software engineering intern at Wells Fargo, and participated in Susquehanna International Group's Discovery Day program for quantitative trading.
I also play violin in UVA's student-run symphony orchestra and love to play poker!
Some mathematical courses I've completed include:AP Calculus BC (Calc 1 & 2) -- AP Score: 5 -- AB Subscore: 5
Multivariable Calculus (Calc 3)
Calculus-based Physics - Mechanics & Electricity/Magnetism
Linear Algebra
Discrete Math
Theory of Computation
Transition to Higher Math (basically this book)
Probability (college-level)
Statistics (college-level)
Data Structures & Algorithms
Computer Systems (OS, Computer Architecture)
Machine Learning
Intermediate Micro & Macroeconomics
Econometrics
Next Semester: Graduate-level Algorithms, Real Analysis, and Math of Derivative Securities
As for the SAT, I scored a 1570 (770 EBRW / 800 Math).
I took the SAT twice and the PSAT once, earning a perfect math score on all 3 exams.
